Description:
A particularly interesting vintage Seiko Perpetual Titanium, combining an exceptionally light titanium case with one of Seiko’s most useful calendar complications.
What makes this watch stand out from a conventional vintage Seiko is its Perpetual Calendar system. Rather than simply displaying the date, the calendar is designed to automatically account for the different lengths of the months, including leap years. This means the date remains correctly aligned without the constant manual adjustment required by a standard date watch.
Combined with the titanium construction, this makes for a rather unusual and technically interesting Seiko. Titanium gives the watch a remarkably light presence on the wrist, while the Perpetual Calendar adds a level of functionality that is rarely encountered on vintage quartz watches.
The watch itself is in very good condition considering its age, showing only minor signs of wear. The crystal is completely free from scratches or imperfections, and the dial is likewise in excellent condition, presenting beautifully.
A new battery has recently been fitted and the watch is fully functional.
The combination of Seiko’s Perpetual Calendar technology, lightweight titanium construction and vintage character is what really sets this watch apart. It is not simply another vintage quartz Seiko — it is a distinctive piece of Seiko’s quartz-era engineering and an excellent example of how practical technology and unconventional materials were brought together in a wearable timepiece.
Considering its age, the overall condition is exceptionally good. The clean crystal and dial, together with only minor signs of wear to the case, give the watch a very well-preserved appearance.
A rare and highly distinctive vintage Seiko for anyone who appreciates unusual watches, clever engineering and the history of Japanese quartz watchmaking.
